その後、メキシカン・リーグでのプレーを経て、2016年7月にカーディナルスと契約を結びました。また、彼の愛娘が生まれた土地であることから、アロザレーナはメキシコに並々ならぬ愛着を持っています。現在、彼の母、妻、子供、兄弟は全員メキシコ在住で、アロザレーナも毎年オフになると決まって「帰省」しています。
ワールドシリーズでの大活躍から数か月後の2021年2月、アロザレーナはインスタグラムを通じて「メキシコの市民権をください。そうすれば、メキシコ代表としてWBCに出場できます。私が望むものはそれだけです」と大統領に訴えました。そして、2022年10月になってようやくメキシコの市民権を獲得し、晴れて今回のWBC出場につながりました。
