死産した双子の遺体を遺棄したとして起訴されたベトナム人の元技能実習生、レー・ティ・トゥイ・リンさん（24）が、24日の最高裁判決で逆転無罪となった。判決後の記者会見で、リンさんはコメントを発表した。
リンさんは、逮捕から2年4カ月が経過し、最高裁判所の無罪判決を聞いて心からうれしいと述べた。これまでの期間、報道やインターネット上で嫌なことを書き込まれるたびに心が折れそうになったが、支援者や弁護士から慰められ励まされ、希望を見いだし今日まで頑張ることができたと語った。
また、リンさんは無罪判決を受けて、妊娠して悩んでいる技能実習生や女性の苦しみを理解し、捕まえたり有罪として刑罰を加えたりするのではなく、相談できて安心して出産できる環境に保護される社会に日本が変わってほしいと願った。
妊娠した実習生が追い込まれる例が少なくなく、実習生を労働力としか見なさず、妊娠・出産を非難すべき行為と捉える風潮や、妊娠の責任を女性のみに負わせる社会の認識が孤立出産を助長しているのかもしれない。外国人労働者を受け入れる以上、妊娠や出産という人として当たり前の権利を認めるよう制度を変えるべきなのかもしれない。
